Friday Factoids are quick weekly reminders on how easy, important and valuable it is to protect your intellectual property rights. Some factoids recognize those who have gained by registering their names, works or inventions – or who have lost by failing to do so. Other factoids recognize the large and increasing role that intellectual property plays in our lives.

Friday Factoids are provided by Jonathan Wachs, a Principal with the law firm of Offit Kurman, P.A.  Jon works closely with companies to develop, register, analyze, enforce and transfer intellectual property assets in a customized, cost-efficient and highly effective manner. He also conducts comprehensive reviews to determine the nature and value of intellectual property assets and the steps needed to protect such assets from misappropriation or dilution. He has successfully negotiated and completed several multi-million dollar business transactions and served as general counsel to several small and mid-sized businesses and organizations in various industries and professions. He is also the Co-Manager of New Paradigm Counsel, a service through which Offit Kurman provides outsourced legal departments to companies that are experiencing substantial growth and/or change.
